  1. how do i charge a 12 volt battery

    1. Check the polarity of the battery post. Positive ( P or +) battery post is usually larger in diameter than the negative (NEG, N or -). Attach the positive clip (red) to the positive battery terminal and the negative clip (black) to the negative battery terminal. Position yourself away from the battery. Determine voltage of the battery by referring to the manual and make sure that the output voltage selector switch is set at the correct voltage. If the charger has an adjustable charging rate, charge the battery initially at the lowest rate. When disconnecting, turn the charger off, unplug the AC power and remove the cables in the opposite sequence of the installation sequence.

  2. Will it force charge batteries?

    1. The model SC1361 does not have a dedicated force charge. The charger does offer a 50 amp engine start setting, this is a high power option. This will be able to deliver an immediate boost to a severely discharged battery or jump start an engine.

    1. The battery charger does not come with an internal fuse. The charger is not repairable. No parts are available.

    1. The charger would be able to charge a slightly dead battery, but it may not charge a completely dead battery.

    1. Charge completion is indicated by the charged/maintaining (green) LED. When lit, the charger has switched to the maintain mode of operation.
