  2. Can these be used for lifting? If so, what is the capacity?

    1. Skidding tongs are not designed to lift. Lifting tongs have different angle at the hook and a better grab action when pulling on the lifting ring or hook. Northern Tool has lifting tongs available (see below).

  3. how small a tree will the tongs grab?

    Someone wrote in the review of the swivel skidding tongs 171/2" that you can not use it for trees under 15" is this not true, what is the smallest tree or log it will work on!

    1. The jaw opening is 2 1/2' to 17 1/2 inches. Depending on the type of wood the skidding tongs will work on a log as small as 2 3/4" to 3".
