  1. Diameter of the ring material, i.e. will 3/8 mouth hook work with the ring?

    Need to grab the ring with a hook, what is mouth size of hook I need? Will 3/8 do, the standard hook on most drag chains?

    1. I bought a 1/2" u shaped attachment that has A removable bolt so it can slip through the ring and then through hook on the end of my cable. I am not using it with a chain, I am using it with a crane jib with cable.I had to go with 1/2" because of the safety latch on my hook.

    3. The 3" diameter ring is 3/4" thick. A 3/8” hook would be big enough unless the chain was threaded through the ring and hooked back to the chain.

  2. Will these tongs lift wood "rounds"?

    I need to lift large diameter heavy wood "rounds" and place them on my wood splitter. The rounds are 16" to 20" in length. Will these tongs bite into the wood and grip it for the lift?

  4. What is inside diameter of lifting ring? What is length from shackle center to end of tong? When closed on the counter, what is overall length from ring to end of tong?

    1. The lifting ring has an inside diameter of 2.99". From the center of the shackle to the end of the tongs is 17.32" when it is open and 27.16" when it is closed. The overall length when closed is 29.29".
