A separate inline water trap should always be used regardless of type of line being run. There are all types and brands you should do a little research so you can match one to specific application.

Run Compressed Air Anywhere
Easy Installation
The RapidAir compressed air piping system allows you to design and install your own personalized air system any way you want. The hose fits easily into the included connectors. No special skills or equipment are needed. Just push the tubing into the fitting until fully seated. RapidAir nylon hose is flexible enough to get around large radius corners without special fittings. The system can be mounted on the surface of a wall or behind the wall with flexible clamps that allow the tubing to move. No expensive tools are required.
Ultimate Flexibility
You can purchase additional fittings to customize your RapidAir installation, based on your space and compressed air requirements. It is easy to add and change air drops as needed, since hoses and fittings can be easily disassembled and reused. The system is rated for up to 150 PSI, which is well within the working range of most air tools. The RapidAir Master Kit is an ideal solution for garages, workshops and trailers less than 1200 square feet.
The RapidAir Advantage
Long-Term Durability
The RapidAir tubing and fittings are not prone to rust and corrosion and will provide years of reliable service. The nylon tubing material stays flexible and will not become brittle or lose strength over time. You can count on a RapidAir system for years to come.
Dependable Warranty
The RapidAir Master Kit comes with a 1-year limited warranty to give you extra peace of mind. System components are guaranteed against defects resulting from faulty workmanship or materials for one year from the time of purchase.
Guaranteed Satisfaction
Shop in complete confidence, knowing Northern Tool + Equipment protects your investment and is ready to provide you with the assistance and helpful resources you need.

How is moisture removed from the system?
-

Jim47· 15 years ago
There is no special features provided by the system that automatically removes water that normally collects in a compressor piping system like this. If one runs the piping to assure that fittings are at the end and are at the low point in the run, air pressure may be used to bleed the water that will collect after the system has been in use and the system has been left pressurized. One normally drains the air reservoir tank to eliminate water that collects in the tank using the drain valve on the bottom of the tank. Otherwise moisture can be prevented from entering the system by using a dryer (expensive) or micron filter unit (less expensive and probably less effective).

In order to remove moisture you would want to put a filter/dryer assembly in between the compressor and the RapidAire kit.

Does this piping have to be run through a pipe straightener before using?
-
Matt10· 6 years ago
No. It uncoils easily and pulls straight as an arrow.

ProductExpert11· 7 years ago
The tubing will not need to be run through a pipe straightener to use. It will just need to be uncoiled.

Will synthetic oil in pump break down Nylon Tubing in RapidAir kit if it leaks through the system.
I did not see in the IR compressor manual anything about synthetic oil being compatible with Nylon or not.
-
WoodstockJustin· 9 years ago
why not use a filter separator between the compressor and the kit, then use an in line oiler at the outlet where the air tool is to be used. keep the air lines clean so if you ever want to spray you don't have contaminated air.

The nylon tubing used in the RapidAir System is highly resistant to degradation but may over time and with enough exposure suffer some damage. A filter/regulator is highly recommended for your system.

Is regulator and filter recommended before manifold?
Is a filter and regulator recommended before manifold if my tank maxes out at 150 PSI? I would still install one after manifold before each outlet block...
-
DrAofOhio· 12 years ago
It isn't necessary but I would always run any of my pipe after the regulator and filter (compressor>R&F>air supply lines). Reason: the metal manifold will cause condensation because it has a higher/quicker heat transfer rate. The solid aluminum manifold will surely hold the 150psi (use Teflon), so if the question is safety you will be fine - my answer dealt more with water collection... good luck

A filter and regulator is recommended before the manifold when using the RapidAir Master Kit.

Water Drain ?
I am running the tubing across a ceiling but have to run under a 12" beam.
Do I have to put a water drain in the belly or low point ?-
DrAofOhio· 12 years ago
It depends on the run length and the distance from the compressor, but if it were me I would run a line with a manifold and bleed valve at the bottom of the loop (use the dip to make another connection point). All my drops have drains throughout my shop and I bleed them during the days and always shoot something out. Good luck.

ProductExpert9· 12 years ago
You do not need a water drain at the low point of your tubing, both outlet ports have a drain valve and the water will not reach the low point on the ceiling in the air line.

What is the tubing pressure rated for at 95 degrees?
My shop can reach the mid to high 90's during the summer months.
What is the maximum safe pressure at 95 degrees F.
Is there a mathematical formula to derate the pressure of the tubing @ a given temperature?
-
perfetech· 11 years ago
The tubing will hold up to 150 pounds of air pressure without problem even @ temperatures like you are experiencing.

ProductExpert6· 12 years ago
The Rapidair Master Kit tubing is rated to 150 PSI. The tubing is rated to 70 degrees. At 95 degrees you would be good to 140 PSI. There is no mathematical formula for this, these ratings are based on the manufacturer testing.

Can rapidair be connected to copper line?
I have copper pipe in my shop at present and want to expand, can the rapidair be attached to this?
-
DrAofOhio· 12 years ago
you 'can' connect to copper if you can find the method to connect the proper fittings. I connected to black pipe and sometimes finding the right SAE, NPT, threads, etc connectors can be frustrating. Good Luck

The rapidair kit is designed to be used as a stand-alone product. If however, the fittings match then it might be feasible.
