Product Summary

Gear-type, heavy-duty hydraulic pump is designed for PTO drive operation on tractors of all sizes. No additional gearing is required. These pumps feature self-adjusting wear plates that seal off leakage and offset any wear or expansion that may occur during the life of the pump. High tensile aluminum housing, minimum gear clearance, cast iron endplates. Internal splined shafts go all the way through and are supported on both sides by roller bearings. All models have a #16 SAE inlet port and two #12 SAE outlet ports. Include #12 SAE to 3/4in. NPTF female adapter. Reservoir size should at least be as large as the output of the pump.

  1. what keeps pump from getting hot

    1. You would need to have a reservoir for the pump, it needs to be sized to the GPM of the pump. As this pump is 21 GPM, you will need a 21 GPM or larger reservoir on the pump and you would attach a cooler on the reservoir to keep the fluid and pump from getting hot.

    1. A relief valve, external to the pump, must be provided in the system.

  3. Is there a HP rating needed for this and or RPM rating for this?

    1. This pump requires 30 PTO HP (at 540 RPM).

  4. what reservoir is used?

    Can this pump be plumped to use the hydraulic reservoir of the tractor or does it need one separate?

    1. The tractor or separate reservoir capacity must be 1 - 2 times the output (GPM) of the pump.

  5. Can you still use pto driven attachments without removing the pump? If so how?

    1. The Prince Hydraulic PTO Tractor Pump can be installed on the PTO shaft and still have the shaft power other attachments however it would be dependent on the length of available shaft after the pump (which is 6.38 inches thick front to back) is installed. Any obstructions, such as a PTO shield, would need to be assessed and possibly removed to accommodate such an application.

  6. Is this the same Prince PTO pump as C387

    1. This PTO pump has a model number of HC-PTO-1A from prince mfg. We do not have a cross reference chart to tell you if it the same as C387.

    how big a oil resorvoir does this pump need?

    1. The reservoir capacity needed must be 1 - 2 times the output (GPM) of the pump.

  8. Can this pump be rotated on the shaft so the writing is upside down?

    By rotating the pump I can gain additional clearence between the tank and the pump. Also the inlet and outlet are on the right side of the pump, instead of making 180 degree lines.

    1. This pump can be mounted in any configuration as long as the shaft rotation follows the directional arrows which are located on the outside of the pump.
