  1. How does this chipper handle pine tree brush? 

    1. It does a great job with pine. I've run many red and white pine branches through mine. 4-5" branches, I have to push/pull them to avoid lugging or stalling the engine, but it'll chip them just fine. 3" and smaller itll pull them right through.

    2. This unit is designed to for chipping sticks and branches up to 5 in. diameter. Please note that an excess of sap could clog the system.

  2. Can this chipper be easily moved around by hand?

    1. The drawbar is well-balanced and there is a stand that folds down. So, with the stand down, its pretty easy and low-risk to move it by hand. I do this frequently, but tow it with a golf cart for longer distances. When moving it by hand, I lift it from the ball hitch with one hand, and push against the chute with the other. As long as you dont have too far to go, or have to go up hills, I think you would be fine.

    2. It is recommended to move the chipper using an ATV, UTV, tractor or pick up. The weight and design of the unit may be difficult to maneuver by hand.

  3. Can this be converted to electric start?

    1. Electric start is not available for this unit. Modifying this machine could cause damage and would void the warranty.

  4. What is the length of a 5" tree that this unit will hold? I have several 5" log that are 10 ft long.

    1. The in-feed chute of this chipper is approximately 41 inches (about 3.4 feet) long. Anything longer than that would just need to be supported by the user.

    1. Leaves that come in contact with the blades will be shredded; however, a specific reduction ratio is not provided.

  6. Can you buy a replacement motor for this unit? 15hp 420cc motor. If you can, what is the price of a new motor?

  7. Where is the grease point for the rack and pinion located?  I didn't see it on the  part diagram in the manual.

    1. There are two grease points, one on each end of the blade assembly.

      One grease fitting is directly accessible from outside the housing. The other grease fitting is located behind the pulley cover and requires removal of the pulley cover for access during greasing.

  8. Does anyone make a cover for this product so it is protected when in the elements?

    1. A custom cover is not available for this chipper shredder. If you need to protect it from the elements, a large tarp secured with tie-downs is a good alternative.
