  1. Do I need to run a ground wire to a rod for this generator

    1. The user will need to drive a 3/4" or 1” copper pipe or rod into the ground close to the generator. The pipe/rod must penetrate moist earth – the depth required will be dictated by local soil conditions. Consult with an electrician.

  2. Can this output 240v? The specs say yes but don’t list any 240v hookups, pictures don’t either.

    1. The engine is shipped with out oil. The oil capacity is 0.63 quarts. Recommended oil is an SAE 10W-30.

    1. Do not operate the generator where it is wet. Operate on a dry surface under an open canopy like structure.

    1. This generator is not equipped with an onboard CO sensor.

  10. How will an Electro Magnetic Pulse, EMP. Effect this generator. I have the 4000. Are there controling electronics that will be effected and make it not work?

    1. The EMP can cause electromagnetic interference on the igniter, the voltage regulator, the rectifier module, and generator. If the electromagnetic interference is too heavy, it will affect the ignition function, output voltage, and DC output waveform of the generator set. The degree of interference depends on the specific transmission frequency band of the user's equipment. In general, with common equipment powered by the generator, the EMP is under control of the generator design and will not affect how the unit works.
