HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZE GENERATOR I NEED?

HOW TO CALCULATE
Running watts needed: Total running watts of ALL items to be powered by the generator.
Starting watts needed: Add highest SINGLE starting watt to total running watts needed above.

EXAMPLE

  1. Calculate running watts
    Furnace 600 + Lamp 100 + Microwave 1000 + Refrigerator 700 = Total running watts 2400
  2. Calculate starting watts
    Total running wattage 2400 + Refrigerator 2200 = Total starting watts 2400

QUICK REFERENCE WATTAGE

1200-1800 watts examples: power tools, coffee maker, heat stove. 2800-3800 watts examples: refrigerator, electric table saw, clothes washer. 5500-12000 watts examples: air compressor, electric furnance, clothes dryer.

    1. This generator is equipped with two 20A, 120V GFCI duplex outlets (NEMA 5-20R, 3-prong), one 30A, 120V locking outlet (NEMA L5-30R, 3-prong), one 30A, 120/240V locking outlet (NEMA L14-30R, 4-prong), and two USB Type-A ports.

  2. This generator is good for sensitive electronic devices

    1. This generator is not recommended for powering sensitive electronics. For these applications, we recommend using an inverter generator with low total harmonic distortion (THD), such as item 6075661.

  3. Does it need anything in the gas

    1. If gasoline will remain in the generator during long-term storage, we recommend adding a fuel stabilizer. Please refer to page 48 of the product manual for detailed instructions on this application. Otherwise, no additional additives are required.

    1. The battery will charge as the battery runs. If the generator sits for some time, a trickle charger may be connected to maintain the battery.

    1. This generator can serve as a backup power source for a home when connected through a professionally installed, UL-listed transfer switch. It delivers up to 7,500 continuous watts on gasoline or 6,750 continuous watts on liquid propane.

    1. This generator is built to run on gasoline or propane only. At this time, a natural gas conversion kit is not available. Please note that modifying the unit to run on natural gas would void the warranty.

    1. This generator has a noise level of 97 dB. Please check with the campground for any noise restrictions they may have.

  10. Can you switch back and forth from propane to gasoline in the same use or do you have to stick with one fuel at a time

    1. The generator will need to be shut down and restarted when switching between propane and gasoline.

      To start the engine using gasoline:
      1) Disconnect all loads to the generator.
      2) Turn fuel selector switch to gasoline.
      3) Turn the gasoline fuel line valve to the ON position.

      To start the engine using propane:
      1) Disconnect all loads to the generator.
      2) Turn fuel selector switch to propane.
      3) Open the propane tank valve.
