  1. Can a 2000 watt generator like a Honda eu2000 run this splitter?

    1. I confirm the expert’s answer, I have a 2800 peak watt inverter generator which blows the overload each time I try to start the splitter motor. The splitter works fine with my 6500 peak / 5500 running watt generator.

    2. The motor of this log splitter has a surge watt rating of 5400 watts. We would recommend a generator with a minimum of 5400 surge watts like item 165601. Keep in mind that this generator would support the log splitter only, at the time it is connected. For an application where more equipment is being used at one time, considering a larger generator like item 750140 or 13932 is recommended.

  2. what happens if it dont get through a peice

    my question is if it takes more than one hit to get through a log will it automatically retract to home or do you have to manually reset it to hit the log again?

    1. If it doesn’t make it through, you’ll likely hear the belt squeal a bit. Release the engagement lever and the Ram will retract, the flywheels will quickly spin up and you can take another wack at it. I had use a small sledge to get pieces off that get stuck to the blade, although this is rare.

    1. Kinetic refers to the energy stored within the motor's rotation with low friction loss. This makes for smooth operation and extended life of the motor.

    1. This log splitter has a 120V dedicated motor and cannot be rewired for 220V.

  8. Do you need to hold down the power switch during the split cycle?

    1. is it a one hand operation?
    2. Do the flywheels stay running between logs?

    1. This does require two hands to operate. The safety lever it pressed with the hand allowing the control lever to engaged. The second hand would pull back on the control lever which will engage the Flywheel to the log ram. The log ram will then push against the log in the the fixed wedge at the end of the log cradle. The Flywheel spins in place and does not move with the ram.
