  1. Is it a tool-less chain adjuster?

    Do you need tools to adjust?

    1. loosen two bolts, use a screwdriver to tighten the chain, retighten the bolts. mine came with the tool to do this. most reviews say that this old-style system works better than the tool-less adjusters.

    2. yes very easy though can be done in under a min

    3. A combination tool, or "T", is included with the saw. You can virtually disassemble the saw with this one tool. You must manually adjust chain tension using this tool, but it's a 5-minute easy job.

    4. you'll need a flat head screwdriver, but the good thing is the adjuster is on the side so you can get to it easier

    1. Because CA is quite cautious compared to everyone else when it comes to emissions and noise.

    3. This chainsaw cannot ship to California because the engine does not comply with C.A.R.B. (California Air Resources Board) regulations.

  3. Oregon doesn't list Powerhorse, Where do I get a replacement chain/bar?

    1. You can also simply look on the bar and chain and get the Oregon part #'s right off them.

    2. The bar and chain are available directly through Norther Tool and Equipment. The chain is item # 34SL72. And the bar is item # 395170. The chain is available online and the bar is available by phone only. Please contact our friendly sales staff @ 1-800-221-0516 for more details.

  4. what is the advantage of a Walbro carb, is it easy to service and where is warranty service performed

    1. warranty service in general? you'll have to check with NT. The walbro carb allows you to find rebuild kits in the future.

    2. Walbro is the brand name of the carburetor that is used in this saw. The reason that it is listed in the features and benefits is to provide piece of mind to the consumer that we are using a name brand carburetor in the saw and not a generic knock off. Warranty service can be provided at a local Northern Tool retail store. If there is not a store in your area please contact our manufacturing division @ 866-443-2576 to be directed to your local warranty service provider.

  7. Chrome lined cylinder?

    Do the Powerhorse Chainsaws have Chrome lined cylinders or dura chrome cylinder? I ask because this can extend the saws longevity if it does have this.
