This dual voltage horizontal/vertical large capacity Northern Industrial Tools Bi-Metal Cutting Band Saw has all the features needed for professional results when it comes to metal cutting. Designed to cut 7in. round and 7in. x 12in. rectangular stock, this machine features safety hydraulic downfeed control. The built-in coolant system keeps the metal cool and also washes off the metal chips.   1. Does this saw only Cut 45 and 90 degree angles? I need a saw that can be set to cut 90 and everything below 90

    1. I love mine. It will cut any angle you need. Just remember to use a speed or combination square when you set it at 45 degrees. Clamp does not go all the way out to the 45 degree marker.

    2. This saw can be set to cut 0-45 degrees and 90 degrees. There is not an adjustment from 45-90 degrees.

  2. Do the large roller wheels have bearings or bushings?

    Do the two large diameter roller wheels that the blade turns around have bearings in the center of the wheel or bushings. ie this is the drive wheel for the blade and the tension wheel for the blade. richey

    1. All ball bearings. Just look at the IPB in the manual that's online.

    1. I put 2 gallons of Relton mixture in mine, It could have held more but that was plenty and worked great.

    2. The Northern Industrial Metal Cutting Band Saw will use a water soluble coolant. The capacity of the coolant tank is 12 liters. Black cutting oil can not be used as a substitute. The coolant is not included with the saw.

    1. This metal cutting band saw has a 0.032" thick blade. A thinner blade cannot be used on it.

    1. Both of the blade wheels on this Northern Industrial Metal Cutting Band Saw are machined cast iron and are flanged on one edge.

  8. can I cut 3/4 plate 11.5 wide @90 deg and @45 deg

    1. This metal cutting band saw can cut 3/4" thick by 11.5" wide stock at 90 degrees. It won't cut it at 45 degrees however. The max cut at 45 degrees is 4-3/4" by 4-7/8" for rectangular stock.

    1. This metal cutting band saw uses a water soluble coolant. Northern Tool doesn't carry coolant for band saws.
