Product Summary

The Northern Industrial Welders Plasma Cutter features powerful, yet lightweight inverter technology for smooth cutting. Handles almost any project you can throw at it, from mild steel to copper, brass, stainless and aluminum up to 1/8in. Cuts faster and more precise with a thinner kerf and less slag than cutting with oxy fuel. A smaller heat-affected zone also causes less warping. No gas pressure settings, flame tuning, metal preheating, or gas cylinders or refills to worry about, ever.

    i had a question about the Northern Industrial Welders Plasma 275 115V Inverter-based Plasma Cutter. do you need to hook a air compressor to it? if soo would a 20 gallon air compressor be ok.??

    1. The requirement for air is 4.5 CFM @ 65 PSI. If your 20 gallon air compressor puts out 4.5 CFM it will work.

  4. Will this plasma cutter cut rebar and also 1/2 inch bolts?

    1. This plasma cutter cannot cut a 1/2 inch bolt. 1/8th inch clean cut and 1/4th sever cut only. The same applies for rebar.

  5. Will this plasma cutter cut thru 14ga. Galvanized steel? Any hazardous fumes? What type of edge will it leave? Thanks Don

    1. The Northern plasma cutter will cut 14 gauge Galvanized steel. Galvanized metal will produce fumes that will cause nausea in short term and more serever health problems long term. Use of a fan will help. Use of a respirator would be recomened. The edge would be cut smoth depending on the operator skill level. You may want to grind edge with a hand grinder depending on the applaction.
