Product Summary

NorthStar® heavy-duty 5 HP, 60-gallon electric commercial air compressor is built with a cast iron belt-driven oil-lubricated 3-cylinder single-stage pump to run quietly, prevent heat transfer between cylinders and deliver long pump life. Copper finned inter- and after-coolers provide good heat dissipation and less moisture. Ball bearings on each side of crankshaft for smooth running and durability, providing 20,000-hour bearing life. Powered by a 5 HP, 230V electric motor. High-quality compressor also features a paper element filter, heat-resistant alloy steel reed valves, cast iron crankshaft, metal belt guard, oil sight gauge and ASME-certified 60-gallon vertical tank.

    2. This Northstar Electric Air Compressor does come with oil in the pump. It is recommended before operation to check the sight glass to verify the pump has enough oil for ideal operation. The pump on this unit uses SAE30 non-detergent pump oil, and has a capacity of 23.7 ounces.

  5. Is the 15,000 hour pump life correct?

    1. The pump life is determined by the bearing life rating of the pumps main bearings. This specific unit is rated at 15,000 hours. All other components of the pump are replaceable such as the pistons, connecting rods, piston rings, valves, etc.

    1. This compressor will draw 22A on 230V electricity. In order to run this from a generator, it will require approximately 35,997 Watts at start-up and 5,060 running Watts.

    1. This air compressor would use 3/8" lag screws to bolt to the concrete floor. They require a torque of 7-10 foot pounds (9.5-13.5Nm).
