  1. When winching out, does there have to be a minimum load on the cable or can you just pull the cable out as you crank the the handle?

    1. No load is required to spool out; however, the user would need to pull the cable as the wheel is being cranked in the direction to spool out.

  2. Can it be free wheeled?

    1. The winch does not have a free wheel option. It has a brake that you must crank the winch to raise or pull and must crank to lower or spool out. If you stop in any direction the brake will hold the load.

  3. do you have to flip a lever to make it go in a different direction? will it hold the load when you stop cranking it?

    1. There is no lever to switch to turn it the opposite direction. You just turn the handle forward or backward, whichever direction you want to go with it. Once you stop cranking, it will hold the load.

  4. Does this come with the cable, if it does what size is the cable?

    1. The cable is not included with this OZ Lifting winch. Recommended wire is 7 x 19 galvanized aircraft cable, with a maximum diameter of 5/16 inch. Please see item #28353 and #28351 for 2 cables available through Northern Tool + Equipment.
