The Bacteria packs have a 24 month shelf life from date of purchase. On occasion, the pouches might start to breakdown due to moisture and humidity after 12 months or so, but the product itself (microbe blend) is still fully viable and active for 24 months.

You would use 16 packs for a 1 acre pond. Repeat with 8 packs every 2 weeks.
