  1. Cord Size?

    I will be using this saw with a portable generator, what wire cord should I use.

    1. The manual recommends minimum wire size of 14 AWG (1.5mm²) for cord length of 0 - 50ft.

      Cord length of 51 -100ft minimum wire size is 12 AWG (3.0mm²).

    2. always use a cord that is specifically labeled for outdoor use. 0 - 50 ' 14 AWG, 51-100" 12 AWG

    3. The minimum gauge of power cord to use is determined by the length of the power cord being used. The minimum size cord for 50 feet and under is 14 gauge, and cords 50-100 feet need to be a minimum of 12 gauge.

  2. Do you have to get a new sharpening stone every time you get a new chain?

    1. No, you do not need a new sharpening stone with a new chain.

    2. Most chainsaw stones can be used up to 3-5 times. A new stone is not required for a new chain so long as the sizing is correct, and the stone is in good condition.

  3. can you get a longer bar and a ripping chain?

    1. I think a longer bar would be possible but I don’t think you would want to because the chain that comes with it is like nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s the self sharpening deal, but it works and works good

    2. This Oregon Chainsaw is designed to be used with a maximum bar length of 18" The 15 Amp motor would not provide enough power to operate with a ripping chain or longer bar.

  5. what amp invertor is required to run this saw? I'll be using a 25 foot cord off the invertor.

    1. This Oregon Chainsaw will require a 20 AMP power supply to operate. A 25 foot extension cord would need to be a minimum of 14 gauge.
