The NorthStar® 2 HP, 20-Gallon Portable Electric Air Compressor is designed to run very quietly at only 70dB. Features an oil-free dual piston pump that produces cleaner air for tools and maintenance-free operation. 125 PSI working pressure. 70% duty cycle. 2 HP, 115V, 13.5 Amp, 1750 RPM electric motor has low amp draw for easier starts and less electricity required. Two large 2in. pressure gauges allow you to easily monitor the air in the tank and at the outlet. Two 1/4in. quick-connectors allow user to operate two tools at the same time. 20-gallon vertical tank. 10in. non-flat tires and handle provide stable and easy transport of compressor on worksite.

    1. This air compressor should not be rewired to 230V. Modifications like this could damage the compressor and would void the warranty.

    1. This has a protectinve breaker located on the pump. An excessive amp draw will result in the breaker tripping to protect the motor and operator.

  6. Can this compressor be set to maintain 90 psi continuously for its duty cycle by adjusting when it clicks on to refill the tank. I want to use it for a plasma cutter?

    1. If the working pressure of the plasma cutter needs to be 90 PSI, we would suggest adjusting the pressure with the regulator to maintain the discharge pressure at 90 PSI for the cutter. The cut in (95 PSI) and cut off (125 PSI) pressures of the pressure switch should not be changed.

    1. That would depend on the PSI and CFM requirements of the blasting gun. This delivers 5.4 CFM @ 90 PSI and 6.7 CFM @ 40 PSI.

  9. If this unit has a 70% duty cycle is that. Running for 70% of the time and off for 30%of the time.

    1. The 70% duty cycle would be based on 60 minutes of use. You would be able to run it for 70% of that hour, between 40-45 minutes and then rest it for 15-20 minutes.

  10. It looks like this unit has 2 small non cleanable air filters. Is this correct? Can the air filters from item # 25653 be installed on this unit? I plan to use the unit in a wood shop that has a lot of dust in the air.

    1. The air compressor will come with two air filters. The filters are cleanable. It is recommended to check the filter weekly. Replace the air filters every 12 months or 1000 hours. The filters from the item number 25653 are not interchangeable. To order replacement filters item number NS53009-P19 please contact our parts department at 800-270-0810.
