Product Summary

Powerful NorthStar® Generator packs 6500 surge watts and 6120 continuous watts! Reliable, single-phase, 100% copper-wound, brushless generator head for years of long lasting power. Cast iron cylinder sleeve. For years of long-lasting power, this generator uses a reliable, 100% copper-wound brushless generator head. NorthStar's V-mounts are designed to extend life by dampening and isolating engine vibration. The interlocking V-mounts have a rubber isolation mount made with a specially formulated vibration dampening elastomer that provides optimal flexibility and stiffness and interlocking brackets that protect the rubber mounts. This interlocking design allows NorthStar to use softer rubber, resulting in a smooth-running engine. Frame constructed from ERW hot-rolled steel tubing. The solid base provides a strong foundation for the generator and extends life by serving as a barrier between the ground and the generator. This prevents grass, dirt, dust and other debris from being sucked into the engine and the alternator.

  1. I live in a really cool region. Do you know if it have some problem to start when the temperature is around -15 F degree ? Thanks !

    1. Live in Maine, temps this winter dipped into -10 to -20 used reg car battery to start, and while cranks hard and little longer has never failed to start in the 14 years I have had this product.

    2. It would be hard to start the diesel engine in temperatures below 0. It would be recommended to use some sort of heater such as a magnetic oil heater to warm the fuel for easier starting.

    1. A re-jetting kit is unavailable for this diesel generator. For altitudes over 5,000 feet, a service center will need to make the appropriate adjustments.

  6. Can I run 120V and 240V at the same time or do I have to switch it over like the previous generator?

    1. You can run both the 120 volt and the 240 volt at the same time. You will need to make sure that you do not go over the 6120 watts it is rated for. Each outlet has it's own breaker and you also, cannot exceed the breakers amperage.

  9. Can I use this unit for 30amp 240v only not, 30v 240/120

    will just make an adapter ? so I can plug in to the 30amp 240/120v ?

    1. The receptacle is able to handle both 120 or 240 volts up to 30 amps. If the plug you put into the receptacle is wired for 240(2 hot leads), the generator will automatically put out 240 volts. If the plug is wired for 120(1 hot lead) the unit will automatically put out 120 volt power.
