  1. What do i need to hook this up to a battery?

    1. To connect the pump to a 12V DC battery, first disconnect the vehicle battery ground wire, then connect the pump’s red wire to the positive (+) battery terminal and the black wire to the negative (-) terminal, and finally reconnect the vehicle battery ground wire.

  2. Can I use this pump for DEF

    1. This sprayer pump is not rated for use with DEF.

  3. Will this pump work for a pressure washer that needs 4 gallons a minute?

    1. The water supply coming into the pressure washer should be steady and 20% over the rated flow of your pump. 20% more of 4.0 GPM, is 4.8 GPM. Please view item #2685561. This pump is rated at 5.5 GPM.

  4. I am replacing the pump on my 22 gal North Star sprayer, The old pump is a NorthStar 2272Q pump, with a quick connect pressure regulator. Is a pressure regulator needed/recommended with this pump? If so, what model regulator should be used with it?

    1. A pressure regulator would be recommended. Please see our item #2681032 for a regulator that will work with this pump.

    1. For best performance the longest hose this pump should be used with would be 20 feet.

  8. Okay to keep powered and the output at 60psi all the time? (always in an "on-demand" setup) Or will the diaphragm/valve fail prematurely?

    I want to leave this in an on demand setup where it is always receiving power and only the pressure switch turns the pump on and off. This means the output will rest at 60psi for very long periods of time.

    Will the pump diaphragm or valve fail prematurely in this type of setup?

    1. This pump should never be used unattended where it could run dry for an extended period of time. The pump can run dry for short periods, but for extended periods will cause damage to the pump.

    1. This pump can be used in an RV, however, it's not rated for potable or gray water.

  10. Is the 60 PSI cutout fixed or adjustable?

    1. On the head of the pump there where the pressure switch is there is a fitting that can adjust the pressure down to a lower pressure. You would not be able to adjust it any higher.
