  1. The Cat 66dx pump is rated for 4.0gpm. So why is this model showing 3.5gpm in the description?

    1. Cat Pump recommends 2X the flow on a booster pump. Example: 3.5 gpm Cat Pump means a 7 gpm booster. The booster psi does not need to exceed 40 psi, but will work with less.

    2. Cat offers two different 66DX models, one that has 3.5 GPM (66DX35G1I) and one that has 4.0 GPM (66DX40G1I). The pump on this machine has the 3.5 GPM model.

  2. If you were going to run this pump from a tank what booster pump would you suggest?

    1. Cat Pump recommends 2X the flow on a booster pump. Example: 3.5 gpm Cat Pump means a 7 gpm booster. The booster psi does not need to exceed 40 psi, but will work with less.

    2. A pump than can produce 20% more flow than the pressure washer's flow output will be needed. 4.2 GPM would be the minimum needed. I would recommend item 2685562.

  3. Thermal protector is it for freezing weather?

    1. The pump should not be used in freezing temps. To store when not used use RV antifreeze or a pump protector product to replace the water in the pump. It also helps lube the seals.

  8. How do I hook up power washer hoses

    1. The pressure washer hose is equipped with quick couplers. Simply pull the collar back and push the coupler onto the water outlet nipple. The collar should slide over the ball bearings. Release the collar, making sure it springs back and reseats to its original (non retracted) position.

    1. The chemical injector has a 2.1 mm orifice with a 3/8" outlet port and a 1/4" hose barb. It is rated with a 3 GPM flow rate.

    1. How much soap is used will depend on the use of the pressure washer. The chemical solution will be automatically mixed with the water at a ratio of 15 parts water to 1-part chemical solution.
