The mechanical throttle hook-up is located behind the panel where the throttle knob is located. We recommend taking this to a small engine shop to have it set up.

How long should the 9v batteries last? I know quality of battery makes a big difference but on average is it after a few tanks of fuel?
1 answer-
NorthstarExpert12· 4 months ago
The 9V batteries should last more than one year. Note that the batteries are only required for the initial startup, as they assist with priming the fuel system when it is dry. Once the system is primed, the engine will start without the batteries. If the engine sits unused for an extended period, the fuel system may need to be primed again, which could require multiple pulls of the starter rope or replacing the batteries if they are depleted.

What are the 3 connectors on the back used for? Can I upgrade to remote kill switch and throttle with these connections?
1 answer-
NorthstarExpert12· a year ago
Regarding the three connectors on the engine (located near the side of the fuel tank).
1. CAN Communication port: This is used for CAN communication protocols. This is where the OBDII meter connects to the engine.
2. Remote Kill Switch: If the two wires in the connector are connected, the engine will immediately shut down.
3. Idle Switch: If the two wires in the connector are connected, the engine will adjust to low speed idle (~2200 RPM). When the wires are disconnected, full speed operation resumes.
There are no aftermarket kits available to connect to the two remote kill and idle connections.
