  1. What is the outlet port size?

    I'm looking for clarification of the outlet port size of the pump. Your product page states 5/8 compression and the manual states 1/2. Can you provide the size and thread type?

    1. Normal 1/2 inch pipe thread, same as water pipe.
      Buy a 1/2 in brass fitting and it will fit.

  2. Does the pulley wheel need gear oil?

    1. The pulley wheel does not require gear oil. The pump requires 27 oz. of SAE 30 non-detergent pump oil like item 4043.

    1. The pump will use an SAE 30 non detergent pump oil. The oil capacity is 27 ounces.

  4. Where do you hook the air outlet on this compressor pump? For them

    1. Looking at the flywheel, the air connection is located on the top side of the left cylinder head. The outlet size is 1/2" FNPT.

  5. What are the mounting dimensions and what rpm or pulley size do I run on a 1740 rpm motor? On a NorthStar Air Compressor Pump - 2-Stage, 3-Cylinder, 14.9 CFM @ 90 PSI

    1. The mount dimensions are 8-3/4'L x 5-7/8"W. This requires a 5 HP electric or 9 HP gas motor, minimum. The pulley size on the pump is 12.5" diameter and the max pump rotation is 1242 RPM's. The pulley diameter on the motor would depend on the motor RPM's. The formula to determine the pulley diameter is Pump RPM multiplied by the Pump Flywheel Diameter divided by the Engine/Motor RPM. Using this formula, the pulley on the motor would need to be 8.92" diameter.

    1. This has a counter clockwise rotation. It can only rotate in that direction.

  7. What are the bore and stroke measurements of the (2) low and (1) high pressure cylinders?

    1. The piston diameter (bore) on the low pressure side is 6.5 cm. The piston diameter (bore) on the high pressure side is 5.1 cm. The stroke is 6.0 cm.

  8. In order to simplify mounting to my tank, can the intercooler be repositioned to cylinder 1 (looking at the picture, cylinder on the left) and the air outlet, to tank, also repositioned to the rear of cylinder 1? Also, what is the recommended switch?

    1. This is a 2-stage pump and should not be modified. There are too many variables to determine which pressure switch is needed. The required pressure switch would be determined by the application.
