  1. What rotation is this pump and what is the maximum rpm it can be turned at

    1. The flywheel on this pump rotates counterclockwise. Its maximum RPM rating is 1100.

    2. The VT4823 pump turns counter clockwise and can be run up to 1100 RPM. It's most efficient around 1.8 HP and 800 RPM.

  2. will a 1/2hp motor run this?

    1. I am running them on a 3 HP motor. I think a 1/2 HP would struggle if it could turn it at all.

    1. This air compressor pump has a minimum RPM rating of 900, a maximum of 1200, and a 2-horsepower rating.

  4. What is the break in process for this pump?

    1. The starting process for this pump can be found on page 13 of the manual. Below are the steps:
      1. Check oil level per the Lubrication Section of the manual.
      2. Open the bottom tank drain valve. Turn the outlet valve to open air flow.
      3. Plug unit in.
      4. Move the pressure switch to the AUTO position to run the
      unit.
      5. Run the unit for thirty (30) minutes at zero (0) psi (under no load) to break in pump parts.
      6. Move the pressure switch lever or knob to OFF and turn tank drain valve to shut off air flow. The compressor is now ready for use.
      7. Change oil after first fifty (50) hours of operation. Then perform oil changes every three (3) months.

    1. This pump is single belt drive supplied by a 15 amp 1-2 HP 230 volt electric motor. Smallest recommended tank size will be 20 gallons.

    1. The inlet diameter is 1/2" NPT. The outlet diameter is 3/8" NPT.

  10. WHAY IS CFM RATING AT 40 PSI AND 90 PSI?

    1. The CFM is 5.5 CFM at 90 PSI. The manufacturer does not have a rating at 40 PSI. The CFM rating will be higher at a lower PSI and lower CFM at a higher PSI.
