This NorthStar Horizontal/Vertical Log Splitter's multi-patented design gives you premium components and exclusive features that let you save time, increase performance and work effectively. You can count on NorthStar to bring strength, durability and innovation every time. The powerful NorthStar c225 horizontal OHV verified commercial-grade engine with recoil start is designed to deliver in the most demanding applications and includes an impressive 5-year limited engine warranty to ensure dependability. The backbone of this log splitter is an industrial-strength I-beam with heavy plate steel reinforcement. A patented wedge design, made with alloy steel, maintains consistent split and has a unique curve that reduces initial contact area for maximum penetrating force. Add the optional NorthStar Wedge Wings (Item# 110910, sold separately) to make each stroke even more efficient. An auto-return wedge saves time and effort when splitting.
The premium hydraulic system is protected by a quad filtering system that uses 4 different components to protect the hydraulic system from contaminants. Large hydraulic oil reservoir allows fluid to cool, reducing wear and allowing fluid to last longer. Slide-action self-leveling pivot makes it simple to switch between horizontal and vertical split. Designed to be easy to use in both orientations. Some assembly required.

  1. Hello, the specs say 16" diameter for split size. Is this accurate??, seems to small for log diameter Does this come with hydraulic oil?

    1. This logsplitter is capable of splitting logs up to 25" long and 16" in diameter. Hydraulic oil is not included. This logsplitter uses 10 wt. AW32, ASLE H-150, or ISO 32 oil.

    1. The log splitter will include a 13 GPM hydraulic pump.

  3. What size wrench is needed to remove the hydraulic oil plug?

    1. The drain plug on the hydraulic tank will be 1/2" hex plug.

  4. When delivered how much assembly is required? Is the assembly just the initial setup where fluids have to be added or does the splitter have to be attached to the trailer/engine?

    1. Complete assembly is required on the splitter. Assembly instructions are included in the manual with the item. You will need to assemble the wheels onto the frame. Fluids will need to be added. Fluids are not included with the splitter.
