The NOCO® Genius5 Portable 5 Amp Automatic Battery Charger/Maintainer can be used for both 6V and 12V lead-acid, and 12V lithium-ion batteries. This unit is designed for charging a car, motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile, personal watercraft, lawn mower and much more. It also can be used as a battery maintainer to keep a car, boat, RV, and deep-cycle batteries fully charged. The system monitors battery activity for safe and efficient charging without any overcharge and comes complete with a built-in battery desulfator to rejuvenate underperforming batteries. Includes interchangeable connector clamps with integrated eyelets.

    1. To use the NOCO GENIUS5, connect the red clip to the positive (+) terminal and the black clip to the negative (–) terminal. Plug the charger into a wall outlet, then press the Mode button to select the correct battery type (12V, AGM, or Lithium). Charging begins when the LEDs illuminate.

    1. The Genius5 is an automatic 5A charger and maintainer designed for 6V and 12V lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries. It provides a controlled charging current, rather than the high cold-cranking amps required to start an engine.

  3. Will this start/stop the charge/maintenance cycle without pushing the mode select button, if it is only plugged and unplugged?

    1. The charger has built in auto-memory and will return to the last charge mode when connected. To change modes after the first use, press the mode button. Additional instructions are provided in the manual that is included with the item.

    1. This charger should not be submerged in or exposed to water directly. This can be mounted permanently in the engine bay. Position the AC and DC cords to reduce the risk of damage by the hood, door, or moving engine parts. Also stay clear of fan blades, belts, pulleys, and other parts that can cause injury to persons.
