Product Summary

Here's fast heat for contractors, remodelers, farmers, craftsmen and for many situations where emergency or temporary heat is needed. Piezo-electric pilot ignitor makes it easy to start. You can boost the output from 30,000 to 80,000 BTU by simply adjusting a valve. Needs no electrical supply or large propane cylinder. A standard 20-pound or larger propane tank is ideal (not included). Delivers clean, odor-free heat no oil or kerosene to carry or pour. 10ft. hose and regulator included; CSA and CGA certified.

    My garage is 24x24 with 10' ceiling. not insulated. how bad are the fumes from this model ? I currently have to use two kerosene heaters and want to replace them.

    2. I don't notice any fumes but I'm using it outside while camping. I don't think you will notice any in your garage since it uses propane. It's a very clean burn.

  2. Does this heater come with a regulator and hose?

    1. Yes. 10' hose.

    2. Yes, mine did. It lights just like an older gas furnace or waterheater. The reg. is the black knob at the base and has a built-in lighter. The hose is long enough to keep the propane bottle at a safe distance.

  3. Is this heater a quite heater?

    Looking for a heater that does not make the roaring noise like the Mr. Heater Double Propane Heater With Piezo Ignitor — 8,000-28,000 BTU, Model MH24TS

    1. YEs, the 80,000 btu (MH80CV) is pretty quiet. I borrowed the 200,000 btu heater and THAT sounded like a jet when set to anything over 1/2 on the gas valve

    2. Yes, its quite a heater. But its not a quiet heater if that's what you are asking. Its actually fairly deafening when turned up high. Certainly can heat 2000 sq. feet from ice cold to comfortable in a short period of time.

    3. It actually is quite. It's nothing like a forced hot air heater but it's also much slower to heat your space. 850 squares to 60 degrees with the 80,000btu takes 45 minutes when 25 degrees outside.

    4. The Mr. Heater convection heater will be approximately the same decibel rating as the Mr. Heater Double Propane Heater. I am unaware of a portable propane heater that is going to run quieter than these.

    3. For reasons of safety, it is recommended this heater be used primarily to provide temporary heat at building construction sites that are well ventilated. Placement is critical as well due to the high surface and exhaust temperatures.

  5. Can you use this heater in a building with a wood floor?

    How hot does the base get? Have a shed with a wood floor I would like to use something like this in.

    1. Set the heater on a few bricks and it will be safe on the floor .

    How loud is this heater? And what's the noise difference based on how high it's turned up?

    2. This heater is quiet and operates at 10 decibels. This heater does not feature a thermostat so it will always burn at 80,000 BTU and put out 10 decibels all the time.

  7. How much propane will it use when extra valve is added and its operating at 80k BTU?

    1. The fuel consumption on the high setting of this heater is 3.705 pounds per hour. It is not possible to add an extra valve on this heater.

    2. Thank you for your inquiry. The MH80CV will run up to 14 hours from a 20 lb. (minimum required) propane tank. It is not possible to add an extra value to this unit.

  8. How do you add a valve to boost the output?

    1. Thank you for your inquiry. You cannot boost the output on this unit. It is only 80,000 BTU's. We do however manufacture a 200,000 BTU unit.

  10. Can this heater be used in an outdoor tent for a party? Tent is 20x40?

    1. This can be used in a tent as long as there is adequate fresh air. It requires a minimum of 4 feet from the sides and 6 feet from the top. It is also recommended to locate it a minimum of 10 feet from any canvas or plastic tarpaulins or similar coverings.
