    Older versions come with the original 18V batteries. Newer sets, with the same model number, should have the new M18 RedLithium batteries. I wonder which these have.

  10. Can the charger be used on an inverter?

    1. As long as the inverter is rated high enough for the amount of amps the charger draws. I have a Craftsman 18 volt charger that only draws 9 watts, so almost any inverter shoud be able to power your charger. My experience with inverters has been, the bigger the better! The amount of draw is usually listed on the charger or at the plug, in watts or amps.

    2. The 1 hour quick charger included with this combo kit requires 120 volt and 2.1 amps. So as long as your inverter supplies the needed output there is no issue operating it from the inverter. This would equate to approximately 250-300 watts.
