Saftey switch
1 answer-
ProductExpert11· a month ago
The safety overflow switch should be connected to a class II low voltage circuit. To control a thermostatic circuit the COM and NO connections from the safety switch are to be wired in series with the low voltage thermostat circuit to shut down the heating/AC circuit. The COM and NC switch contacts may be used to actuate a low voltage alarm circuit (connected in series) if the heating/cooling system can not be disrupted. The safety switch comes from the factory with leads connected to the COM and NO switch terminals.

When this pumps will it pump all the water out of the tank?
1 answer-
ProductExpert10· a month ago
The Little Giant VCMA-15ULS is not designed to remove every last drop of water from the tank; it pumps the water down to a normal low level and shuts off when the float switch lowers.

What if any additional parts are needed? Is a plumber necessary to hook it up
1 answer-
ProductExpert6· 7 months ago
To install the Little Giant VCMA-15ULS, you'll need tubing (like 3/8" vinyl for the drain, potentially 3/4" PVC for the inlet), a suitable drain line (e.g., to a floor drain or ejector pit), mounting hardware (screws/anchors), and potentially pipe fittings/connectors for your specific AC/furnace, plus low-voltage wire if using the safety switch to shut off the HVAC unit. The pump comes with a power cord, a short length of 3/8" drain tubing, and cap plugs for unused inlets, but you often need more tubing and potentially PVC. A qualified HVAC technician or plumber would be recommended for the installation.

I installed it (also removed the travel tag) and I could not tell if it was operating. What needs to happen in order to know the unit is working?
1 answer-
ProductExpert11· 2 years ago
Follow the instructions below to check operation test: 1. Disconnect the pump from the power source. 2. Remove tank cover assembly. The cover snaps on to the reservoir. Pull out on the slot on the long side of the top. Place a finger in one of the larger corner holes and carefully lift off the cover. Hold level. 3. Turn on the power to the pump. 4. Test pump operating switch by raising the pump switch float. The motor should turn on before the float contacts the tank cover. 5. Test high level switch by raising the high level switch float. The switch should activate before the float contacts the tank cover. If wire to no terminal, air handling device should shut down. If wired to NC terminal, external component alarm or relay should activate. 6. Disconnect the pump from the power source. 7. Replace the tank cover assembly. 8. Turn the power to the pump.
