  2. Would the invertec v-155 work in a standard dryer receptacle or stove receptacle?lug (30 Amp

    I believe the standard dryer is rated 30a and stove is 50a. Wondering which plug to buy.

    1. This Invertec Arc Welder/stick welder comes with a 120/230v input cord with a 120 volt 15 amp plug and also a extra 120 volt 20 amp plug. If you ran it on the 230 volt you could use a 30 or 50 amp plug.

  3. V155 manual recommends NEMA 6-30P but portable generators have NEMA L14-30

    th V155 manual states:

    230V INPUT
    To achieve the full output capacity of the V155-S,
    230VAC inputs should be used. The change over is
    accomplished by replacing the 120VAC plug with a 30
    Amp 230VAC plug (NEMA 6-30P). (and suggests 30A)

    Question: most portable generators rated at the necessary 10000 running watts have a NEMA L14-30 receptacle. Would this mean not using the NEMA 6-30P and instead use a L14-30 plug or just use an adapter? Want to make sure that there are no grounding or safety issues.

    1. If you wish to use this welder at full power through a portable generator, the manufacturer recommends using an adapter from the 6-30P to the L14-30. As long as everything is wired correctly, there should be no grounding or safety concerns.

  4. Lincoln Electric Invertec V155-S 120/230V

    I have a generator that is rated at 8550 watts. It has 1 120/240 Volt - 30 Amp AC plug. In addition to 4 standard 120 Volt - 20 Amp AC plugs.

    Will this Lincoln Invertec V155-S mini stick welder operate with this generator ?

    1. The Lincoln Welder should work with your 8550 rated generator hooked up to 120 or 230 voltage according to the manufacturer.
