  1. What type of lubicated wash is used for klutch band saw

    1. Lubricate the driven pulley bearing with 6–8 drops of SAE 30 oil per week. Lubricate the vise lead screw with SAE 30 oil as needed.

      During the first few days of operation, the worm gear drive will run hot. Unless the temperature exceeds 200°F, there is no cause for alarm.

      The following lubricants may be used for the gearbox: Atlantic Refinery Co. Mogul Cyl. Oil, Cities Service Optimus No. 6, Gulf Refinery Co. Medium Gear Oil, or Pure Oil Co. Park Clipper.

    1. Use a water-soluble cutting fluid for coolant. WD-40 is not recommended, as it is not water-soluble and does not provide the same cooling performance.

    1. This band saw will not cut 8" diameter piping. The maximum capacity is a 7" diameter.

  10. What type of coolant does this machine use?

    1. For aluminum, stainless steel, and other non-ferrous metals, QualiChem Xtreme Cut 251C could be used. It resists the staining and hazing that can happen with other coolants in aluminum. Please follow the coolant manufacturer recommended dilution ratio for the metal being cut.
