  1. How big of an area will this heater adequately heat?

    1. I installed this unit is a 20X25 garage, that was well insulated with no air gaps to the outside. Turned the unit on and watched the temp rise 10 degrees in 9 minutes. perform quite well

    2. There are many variables that affect how large of an area this heater can adequately heat. These variables include outside temperatures, frequency of doors being opened, insulation, etc. To determine if this heater is right for your application, please use the following formula:

      Cubic Feet x Temperature Increase x 0.133 = BTU's Required

  6. Can this heater be wired with an external thermostat, so that it may be left on full time, instead of only 9 hours?

    I don't want to have to turn the unit on every day and have it catch up from not running overnight. I want it to maintain the temperature full time.

    1. This item is not intended for constant usage for safety purposes. A licensed professional may be able to wire an external thermostat however Northern Tool does not supply such a product.

    What size wire should be used with the heater?

    1. You must select a power supply wire to comply with local and national electric codes for 240/208 volts and 31.2/27 amps. The recommended wire size for this heater is 8 AWG.

    Does the fan stay on all the time? Is there any info on how loud the fan is?

    1. The fan does not stay on all the time and there is not a decibel rating on the fan. There is going to be some fan noise but it is not going to be very loud.

  9. Will a 30 AMP dual Pole Circuit Breaker be OK?

    1. The minimum breaker size should be 40 amp to service the load on this heater.
