Guys I will like to Know the distance between the center of the drill chuck to the center of the Rack Sleeve. Or the center of the Column Base.
I know that the distance or height of the Drill chuck to the table or base is 18"
I'm asking because the table that I have is modified. And the drill press that I want to replace with this jet drilling machine has a distance of approximately 12" between the center of the drill chuck. to the center of the Rack Sleeve.

Will the JMD-18 drill a 1" diameter hole that is 12" deep in a 4x4 piece of wood?

This JET Milling/Drilling Machine could be used to drill 12 inches deep with the correct 1 inch bits. It is important to note the spindle travel distance is 5 inches and the maximum distance from table to spindle is 18 inches. A floor mounted drill press with a longer spindle travel distance would be better suited for this type of job. See the link below for an option.
