    Many fans are not intended for dusty or working barns. Ours has livestock in it.

    1. The fan is direct drive, the electrical access panel is sealed, so I don't think dust will be a factor.

  7. Can the shutter blades be detached?

    Have a barn with 3 foot by 3 foot square gable openings, already have shutters in place. can the shutters be removed from the fan housing?

    1. They can be removed but you need a 41" by 41" opening for the fan housing.

  9. Are the shutters waterproof? If a driving rain hits them will it leak around louvre and into the housing?

    1. The shutters are not sealed. They are designed to keep the water out. To prevent water from coming in, it is best to purchase a weather hood model number VFT140860 separately.
