  1. How do you install on the ceiling? What size screws and how many?

    1. Attach to solid blocking with 2 1/4” lag screws or equivalent at least 1 1/4” long.

    2. I installed it on my ceiling using two 1/4" lags screws. They are plenty strong enough to hold it.

    3. Mark where screws should be installed, by holding Hose Reel to ceiling. Install screws in required holes. After installing screws, move reel to side to tighten screws.

    4. The wall mount bracket has two mounting holes that are 21/64 inches in diameter. The hose reel should mount on a flat surface and not over 10 feet above the floor. The appropriate mounting hardware should be purchased locally.

  2. Can the whip hose be replaced with a longer one?

    I need a little bit more length out of the whip hose that comes with the reel. Is there any way to replace it with a longer one? Can another shorter piece be coupled with it to make the desired length?

    1. Not replaced, simply purchase a 1/4” coupling locally and a length of 1/4” hose long enough to suit your requirements.

    2. The whip hose could be replaced with a longer hose or a longer hose can be connected to the existing whip hose. Replacing the whip hose with a longer one could void the manufacturer's warranty.

  3. Mounting-how many degrees does reel move in each direction

    1. The Ironton Mini Air Hose Reel moves 90 degrees in each direction.

  4. Will this work with cold water?

    I also noticed the hose is only good to 60 degrees. Is this a typo? my garage ceiling gets up to 90 plus degrees.

    2. This air hose reel is for use with air only. It cannot be used for water. The max temperature rating on this hose is actually 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius).
