  1. what is the size of the square steel tube needed to support hoist and maximum weight 500 lb.. Plus what is the gauge of of the tubing for strength, and where can you get the tubing plus suggest length.

    1. This hoist is designed to be mounted on standard 1.6 in. × 1.6 in. square tubing. While no specific wall thickness is required, the mounting tube should not exceed 43.3 ft. in length, as longer lengths may affect performance and safety.

  2. can I mount it upside down? I want to mount it in the basement and run up to a pulley on the next floor to operate a dumb waiter.

    1. This hoist is designed to be mounted to an overhead pipe or beam using the included mounting brackets. We do not recommend mounting it upside down for operation as this would void the warranty.

    1. This hoist cannot be connected to a rheostat to slow the motor down because it has an induction motor.

  7. how long is the controlling line cable and how many conductors are in it? can a longer one be bought?

    1. The remote control cable length is 1.6 meters (5.25 ft.) long. There is one capacitor, 60UF, in the controller. A longer controller is not available for purchase at this time; however, it can be lengthened to whatever the user finds suitable as long as it is done by an electrician.
