    1. Yes, this hoist will support the full load even with the electrical power cord disconnected.

    1. For safety reasons, do NOT use this hoist outdoors where rain or other sources of moisture are possible.

    1. Yes. However, for safety reasons and for very extended periods of time I install a redundant support for my load.

  4. Is a cordless available for a light duty hoist?

    1. No mention of one in the booklet. It seems like an obvious question, but you need to hook and unhook your load, so I can't see an advantage to a remote control for this hoist. Our truck winch has one, but all the rigging is done on the ground, sometimes 40' from the winch. That remote is important.

    1. No, it stays where it was stopped if you pull power.

  6. does this hoist come with a double line pully like the second picture?

    1. Ours did. A nice heavy one, sort of like a snatch block. You need to loosen a couple of bolts, tuck the 1/10" wire rope around the pulley and you're ready to lift 220 lbs. The duty cycle is 2 minutes on 8 minutes off.
