This Ironton® ARC80 Stick Welder with TIG function is a super compact, lightweight, single-phase inverter stick/TIG welder that makes a perfect choice for mobile and outdoor applications. The efficient 120V inverter-powered system produces smooth DC arc welds. It's an excellent choice for use on mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron and hard surfacing. Includes 5.4ft. electrode cable with holder, 5.4ft. ground cable and clamp and shoulder strap for easy portability. CSA approved. TIG-ready with purchase of a Klutch® TIG Torch (Item# 44455, sold separately).

  1. If a foot pedal isn't offered how do you use the tig then?.button like a mig or is it constant power to the touch?

    1. It is a lift arc TIG Torch set-up. Meaning you touch the electrode (Tungsten) to the piece you are welding then lift away approximately and 1/8" and your arc is started, then you form puddle and drop in filler rod.

    2. After installing the TIG setup, you set the current on the machine so the output is constant. You'll have to stop TIG welding to adjust your setting up or down and then resume. No foot pedal our thumb switch to adjust while running a bead. I've had a lot of success welding interior railing as long as you stay within the limitations of the machine regarding thickness of materials welded.

    3. This welder requires a separate TIG torch for TIG welding. Please see our item #44455 for the TIG torch that works with this machine.

  2. Can this welder be run off a power inverter for a vehicle?

    1. This welder requires 75 amps and a minimum of 9,000 watts to operate. Running this welder off an inverter is possible; however, it is not recommended.

    1. With the correct safety protection, this can be used to weld overhead or vertically.

  4. Is this welder compatible with 6010 rods ?

    1. This welder produces a maximum of 75 amps. A 3/32" 6010 rod typically requires 50 to 90 amps. The other sizes require a higher amperage, so it would not be recommended.

  5. Can E6011 rods be used?

    1. This welder can use E6011 stick welding electrodes, item 5017995.

  6. Does it burn 7018

    1. This welder is not recommended for use with 7018 electrodes as they work best with a higher amperage output. This welder produces a maximum of 75 amps.
