  1. Is the top sturdy enough for a laptop

    With the top extended, is it sturdy enough to support a laptop? I intend to work on a stool with the lid in this position.

    1. yes. sturdy enough completely open to safely hold a laptop.

    2. Absolutely. This is a rugged box that can support 350 lbs. The top is lined with a rubber mat too.

    3. Yes, the top is very sturdy. With the slides out I am able to put heavy parts on them still.

    4. Yes... open or closed, it is rugged enough to support a standard laptop. The only thing I may see is that depending on what else you have in the cart and how heavy the laptop is, you may want to counter-balance the other end of the cart if it seems a little tippy.

    Was wondering if you can open drawers when top is closed and can you open one of the top sides at a time or do they both have to open together.

    1. Depends on the length. There is no place to hang anything super long. You are limited by the interior width of the open top or the drawers.

    2. This tool cart has the 2 locking drawers, the locking top storage area, and the bottom shelf. It has an overall length of 30-3/8". There are no other specific areas for storing longer pry bars or ratchets.

    1. With the right cover closed, the left cover is moved to the left about 1.38in. to 1.574in. to open.

    1. The keyed locking mechanism only locks the top sliding trays. The drawers are locked until the left sliding tray is moved out to the side.
