In a dirty environment (coal ash from forge) does the motor and radiator need extra protection?
-
ProductExpert35· 9 years ago
The motor and radiator always need to be clear and able to get adequate ventilation. In an especially dirty environment, they may require more frequent cleanings to remove any foreign materials that would hamper it's cooling ability.

I contacted Ingersoll Rand. They said that no extra protection was needed, but more frequent service might be advised.

what is the difference in a single phase and three phase motor
-
Speedracein68· 7 years ago
In addition to the Staff answer, in general, Single Phase motors are for Residential (DIY) use and Three Phase are considered Commercial use and need special electrical service.

Single Phase motors have low starting torque whereas a three phase motor will have higher starting torque. Single phase motors are also less efficient compared to three phase motors.

If using in weather below 40 degrees Fahrenheit it may be recommended to use a lighter weight oil. Please contact the manufacturer direct for more information on how to winterize an air compressor.

what is difference between single & two stage
what is difference between single & two stage
-
ProductExpert5· 3 years ago
The simple answer is that a two stage compressor will provide more pressure.
A single stage compressor uses only one piston to compress the air and will typically produce no more than 150 psi. A two stage compressor uses a primary piston to compress the air and secondary piston to compress the air further. A two stage compressor will typically produce 175+ psi.
Note: Do not confuse stage with phase. Single or two stage refers to the pump and single or 3 phase refers to the electrical requirement of the device.
