  1. do i need one on each line on a two way cylinder

    1. Yes, if you want to adjust the speed of the cylinder in both directions.

    2. It depends on your application, but it seems what you are trying to do is to slow a cylinder's actuation time of either direction. You might consider using a flow restictor upstream the control valve inlet port. Yet, that also depends on your control valve configuration.

  2. Can this be adjusted while oil flowing through, or do you have to shut down and have no pressure/flow?

    1. You can adjust the valve while under pressure.

    2. This unit can be adjusted while under pressure and oil flowing through, there will be some shudder but that is normal and will soon go away. You will want to check periodically afterwards once set for consistency.

  3. Will it shut flow completely off if turned all the way down?

    1. The way to mount this valve is by plumbing in line with a fixed existing hydraulic platform of piping or hose.

    1. This flow control valve is constructed from steel. The top knob is coated steel and the main body is anodized coated steel.
