Product Summary

The main ingredient in firebricks is fireclay, which contains mostly alumina and silica, elements capable of withstanding high temperatures. Hard bricks are available in several grades, depending on their composition and properties, which determine the application of the product. Proper selection of the appropriate grade is critical. Our firebricks are rated medium-duty and have a temperature rating to 2700°F maximum and a high thermal shock resistance. Medium-duty firebricks are standard in most high efficiency wood burning appliances. Uses include backup linings, lower-temperature ceramic kilns and chimneys, and contains 34–38% alumina.

  1. Are these firebrick an insulater. Would this be the best option for my stick burning offset smoker?

    1. The bricks can be heated and will retain the heat for some period of time. They do serve as an insulating material. The firebrick can be used for outdoor wood burning ovens. The firebrick have not been tested and certified as food safe.

  2. Can you use these for the base of a outdoor metal pizza oven . Can I lite fire/coal directly on the surface?

    1. The firebrick can be used in a pizza oven. It is able to with stand heat up to 2700 degrees F. It is designed to have the wood burning on the surface of the brick.
