  1. What is the lowest temperature at which the EB3000C will reliably start?

    1. Honda does not publish an exact specification for minimum ambient operation tempertature. The units will start and run just fine well below freezing, including below zero (F). At such low temps, you may wish to run a slightly thinner oil, such as 5W-30, and consider installing a cold-weather kit, which helps retain engine heat around the carburetor to prevent freeze-up. Note the kit only helps prevent freeze-up, and will not improve starting performance.

  2. Neutral-ground bond II

    Robert@Honda-
    To power modern Lennox furnace through local circuit only, using EZgeneratorswitch, I cannot use floating neutral Honda inverter, right, because the circuit board is "looking" for neutral-ground bonding? Can I modify a Honda inverter to serve the same purpose?? (some recommend fashioning a link in extra socket between neutral and ground).

    1. Different equipment oftentimes will not work or report a "fault code" when connected to a small generator. It is recommended you contact a certified electrician in your area for further assistance regarding your application.

Different equipment (UPS devices, inverters, outlet testers, etc.) will sometimes will not work or report a "fault code" when connected to a small generator, since most do not have a neutral-bond like a home outlet/breaker box. Honda suggests you consult with a local, licensed and trained electrician to ensure all connections are within code, safe and legal. FYI, there is a built-in ground screw terminal on the front of all Honda generators that may be used as required. Only a trained electrician should have the final call on what is in compliance for your area and set-up.

      Again the EB3000c *IS* fully neutral bonded to the frame, which may or may not work properly with a GFCI-wired home.

    2. Yes, the EB3000c IS neutral-bonded. FYI, unlike many other Honda EB-series models, the neutral bonding link on the EB3000c *can't* be removed. -Robert@Honda

    1. Yes, it is safe to run a computer with this generator.

      Absolutely okay to run a computer with this generator. The EB3000c uses cycloconverter technology to make a nice power profile and is safe for all devices. I would suggest installing a good quality surge protector between the computer and any power supply, including this generator and even wall power. If your computer is mission-critical device, you may even want to go that extra step and get a UPS back-up power device that would continue to provide power if / when power goes out completely.
