  1. Does this have surge protection built in

    1 answer

    1. This transfer switch would have built-in surge protection.

      Helpful?

  2. does the panel this is used for have to have distribution separate from main breaker

    1 answer

    1. This transfer switch does not have a separate distribution. It would connect to the house's main breaker.

      Helpful?

  3. Can a 100 a transfer switch be used with a 200 a entrance when 100a is waymore than we need

    1 answer

    1. A 100 amp transfer switch can be used with a 200 amp service, but it could not be installed as a whole house service entrance disconnect. It would need to be installed as a partial-home/subpanel set up that limits it to 100 amps to prevent melting the switch. Professional installation is recommended.

  4. what is the difference between a service rated and a non service rated transfer switch

    1 answer

    1. A service‑rated switch can act as the main disconnect, while a non‑service‑rated switch must be installed after an existing disconnect.
