Product Summary

The Friedrich Zone Aire 12K BTU Portable AC Plus Heat series come with built-in WiFi, which allows for smart home compatibility and control on-the-go with the FriedrichGo app. This unit offers 4in.-1 comfort: air conditioner, dehumidifier, fan and heater with 8300/12,000 BTU for cooling and 9500 BTU for heat. This unit is super portable and great for cooling or heating small spaces. The built-in heat pump will convert to a heater on cooler nights at the push of a button. Auto-swing air louvers will oscillate the air up and down. The self-evaporative condensate system means you can plug and go without worrying about emptying a condensate bucket. And with overflow protection, you don't have to worry about overflow spilling onto the floor. The fan is 3-speed. Easy access anti-microbial filters can be washed and re-used. Auto restart. Sleep control function operates in a lower/quieter mode. Built-in drain pump will remove condensate into an appropriate dispenser when in heat mode to avoid bucket emptying.

  1. What is the purpose of the window install kit? Though unit was windowless portable free standing

    1. The window kit allows the hot exhaust air to be vented outside of the room instead of venting the hot air back into the room.

  2. How well does this do in heat mode? Is there a minimum outdoor temperature for it to be effective? I'm wondering if this could be used to keep a small workshop building above 50F.

    1. This has a heat output of 9500 BTU. It can operate in temperatures down to 14 degrees F. It can heat a well insulated building up to 500 square feet depending on the outside temperature and the desired temperature rise indoors.
