  1. Does the flow stop pumping when your gas tank is full or do you need to be careful yourself not to overfill?

    1. This gas container has a manual pump. It does not have an automatic shut-off and will need to be stopped manually to not overfill.

  3. Does this container come with a cap to prevent splashing while in the car? Can it lay down on it’s side, or does it have to stand upright in the car.

    1. The tank will have a separate cap for use when transporting. The tank should be transported standing up.

  4. Can this be used with methanol?

    1. Methanol is not recommended for use in plastic containers. The methanol may degrade the plastic causing the container to lose structural integrity.

  5. Is this compatible with diesel fuel

    Is the 5 foot extension leak proof so the total hose length is 10 feet?

    1. The red colored tank is best used for gasoline. Please see the link below for item 64488 which is the yellow colored container for diesel fuel. The hose extension kit, item 64493, also shown below, does extend the fuel hose to give a total length of 10 ft. Properly tightening the hose clamps will keep the hoses from leaking.
