Is the capacity 2500 lbs total or per ramp?
I need to use these ramps to load a Ford 8N tractor onto my trailer. The tractor weighs about 2750 lbs.

These ramps are rated for 2500 pounds. To be safe, I'd order the next size up which is 5,000 pound capacity.

I have the 10,000-lb. capacity ramps and each ramp is rated for 5,000 pounds, so I assume that the 2,500-lb. ramp set is rated for 1,250 pounds for each ramp.

How is the end of these ramps constructed?
In one photo, the ramps seem to have 90 degree hooks on the end hooking onto the lip of a trailer. In another photo the ramps seem to have a red, flat, rubber coated end. Do these need to hook on a lip as shown in the trailer photo or is it longer and flat for the back of a pick up?

Mine have the 90 degree angle brackets. To insure they don't move it's important they have a feature to lock on to...

They have a hook on the end and need to hook over a indentation on a trailer. The advantage to this is they will not slip off when you drive onto them.

They have 90 degree hooks, about 1.5" deep: need to hook over a rail or flange at the back of your trailer or truck bed. I made a rail from 1" galvanized pipe for my trailer

can this ramp be used to load a small tractor into the back of a pickup truck?
-
Glazer· 10 years ago
You can use these ramps on a variety applications including your favorite pickup truck. My only caution here is be sure you have a place for the angled brackets to grab onto so the ramps won't slip...

Too risky, imo. These 5 foot ramps are made for trailers, keeping loading angles to a minimum.

These ramps have L-shaped brackets that are more designed for trailers. However if you wanted to use them with a truck take note of the weight capacity of the tractor you would be using on the ramps. These will handle up to 2500 lbs max.

would these ramps work with a dodge dakota 4X4
-
Thisguy1080· 15 years ago
I would say they should work fine. Just like using any ramp though you need to be cautious when using them and set them properly before using them.

Theses ramps are designed with a hooked end for used with a trailer. We also offer ramps that are designed to be used with a pickup. Typically the ramps that are designed for used with a pickup are longer to provide a less severe angle when loading and have hooks that are made to sit on the edge of a tailgate. See links below for more details.
