  1. How will this pump perform on hydrolic oil in subzero weather?

    1. When pumping hydraulic oil in very cold temperatures, the oil will become more viscous and more difficult to pump.

      When pumping hydraulic oil in very cold temperatures, the oil will become more viscous and more difficult to pump.

      The maximum viscosity that we typically recommend is around 350 centipoise (2000 SSU). After that, it just becomes more and more difficult to pump the oil. As a reference, 350 centipoise is like 30 weight motor oil at 70° F.

      You can still pump the oil when the viscosity is higher, but again, it takes more effort.

  3. How do I connect goldenrod filter to flow rite piston hand pump

    The angle looks like you can't get it on without some kind of angled fitting.

    1. When looking at the pump, you will notice the black plug that is on the top of the pump. This is the vacuum breaker, and it is threaded into a ¾" opening.

      Remove the vacuum breaker and install it in the angled port on the side of the pump (normally where the hose screws into the pump).

      Now you can install a nipple (if needed) and a street elbow right out of the top of the pump. You can connect the Goldenrod filter head to the street elbow. I would install a second street elbow on the discharge side of the filter head so that your hose will hang straight down, preventing it from crimping over.

  4. Is this pump compatible with methanol

    1. This is not compatible with 100% methanol.

    2. The FR152 is not compatible with 100% methanol. If this is what you are pumping, then this pump will not work. If you are pumping some blend of methanol and another liquid, I would need to know the percentages of methanol and the other liquid(s).

  6. is there a filter kit available for this model?

    1. The filter kit is item # 39623. This contains a cast iron filter head, an 18 GPM 10 micron spin on filter, and a multi plane swivel. Please see below.

  7. Will this pump work on your fuel tank #71083?

    1. The #71083 fuel tank has a standard 2" opening on the top that the Fill-Rite pump will mount into.

    2. The #71083 fuel tank has a standard 2" opening on the top that the Fill-Rite pump will mount into.

      Simply screw the suction pipe into the pump (don't forget to use a sealant on the threads), then lower the suction pipe into the tank and screw the pump into the 2" opening on top of the tank.

      You may want to consider using sealant on the 2" threads as well. Sealing these threads will help keep water from seeping into the tank.

    1. Yes, this will work with both gasoline and diesel fuel.

  9. What is the length of the inlet tube.

    I do not yet have a tank. It seems like the length of the inlet tube and the depth of the tank would need to be very close (without hitting the bottom of the tank of course) in order to pump as much fuel as possible from the tank.

    Please let me know the length of inlet pipe so that I can select a tank accordingly. Or if I am not understanding how this works, maybe you can explain things to me.

    1. Comes with an inner and outer tube which slide together so you have almost 2ft if range on the depth of the tank. mine in on a square truck box tank which only a little ove 2 ft but the tube will slide to accommodate a 55gal drum.

    2. The suction pipe adjusts to fit 15-55 gallon drums. The shortest length is 20" and fully extended the length would be 34".

  10. Fill-Rite Hand Fuel Pump — 2in. NPT, Model# FR152NT I want to pump gasoline from an underground tank. How much vertical lift will this pump produce?

    1. We pump fuel from a 12,000 gallon underground tank that is more than 10 feet to the bottom and have no problem.
