  1. Can this model free wheel, when dispensing cable or rope to the load or must you crank it backwards?

    1. The winch does have free spool. You will need to remove the crank handle. Press the handle knob and turn the knob counter clockwise. Do not use the free spool function under load.

  2. I want to use this on my davit which would hang upside down. I think i would have to hang it backwards to get the handle positioning right. Does mounting orientation matter? and can I use cable? or synthetic rope

    1. This can be mounted in different positions, it just needs to be properly bolted down. A steel cable or winch strap should be used.

  3. Does this come with the necessary hardware for using a flat strap versus a rope wire?

    1. The winch will include the strap bar to attach a strap to it. See page 14 of the product manual on our web for instructions to install a strap.
