    What type of sealant should I use to attach the vent pipe to the mr heater unit?

    1. High-temp silicone. You can find it anywhere that sells the pipe.

    2. At this time Northern Tool does not sell sealant for this application to recommend. A water based high temperature sealant is typically recommended for this application. A licensed installer may have different recommendations as to which sealant to use depending on the surrounding material.

    1. The inside liner is made of stainless steel.

  3. Do you have to seal every joint of the pipe with high temp silicone or just where the appliance adaptor slides on?

    1. You would need to seal it where each pipe connects to the next pipe.

  4. Is Amerivent pipe compatible with Duravent pipe?

    1. If the Amerivent pipe is a type B for gas, it would be compatible with this DuraVent pipe. You would need the universal adapters model 4EUA-M or 4EUA-F available directly through the manufacturer.

  6. Can this be used for a wood stove chimney kit?

    1. Selecting the correct venting for your wood stove will depend on the flue size for the stove and your local building codes. If your wood stove has a 6" flue, this kit cannot be used as it is only 4" diameter pipe.

  7. Are there smaller kits or individual pieces? I hate to purchase this kit and pay for a bunch of unused pieces.

    1. The inside diameter is 4", the pipe that passes through the wall has a 7" outside diameter.

  9. Can I put insulation and/or high temp foam in the thimble to reduce drafts?

    1. A high temp insulation can be used provided it is rated for this type of use and it meets all codes and regulations.

  10. Is this double or single wall construction? What class is it ?

    1. This would be a double wall construction. It is Type L vent rated for a category III appliance, there is no class rating available for the vent kit.

      It is recommended to contact the appliance manufacturer for proper venting procedures and practices.
