    2. Yes, this Driveway Alert System will detect more than cars, also item # 333182 Motion Alerts sensitivity can be adjusted to pick up all movement or just large items. See below.

    1. The Wireless Driveway Alert System will allow an external alarm or motion sensor to be hooked to the unit.

    1. The Wireless Driveway Alert System has a 2 wire input on the bottom so if your existing system also has a 2 wire input yes the item could be used to trigger your existing alarm system.

  4. Can the audible alarm be set to mute? Will the visual alarm still respond if the audible is set to mute?

    1. The volume is adjusted by a dial on the side of the unit. When it is turned all the way down the sound will be off. The indicator light will still come on with the volume down to let you know it has been activated.

  5. Is the entire system wireless, or just the receiver?

    If the entire system is wireless, how long will the batteries typically last in the detection unit and the receiver unit?

    1. The unit is shipped with an AC Adapter for the receiver, you may use batteries (not included) in the receiver for a completely wireless system. Battery life of motion sensor (batteries included) is 6-12 months based on tests of daily moderate use (10 times/day). Battery life may vary depending on usage, temperature, and quality of batteries.

  6. How many feet away will the base unit receive signal from the detection unit?

    Is the reception dampened if the base unit and receiver are separated by structures, such as walls? If so, by how much?

    1. Transmission Range is 300ft, line of sight. Optimum range is 250ft when signal is passing through walls or floors. Buildings with metal frames may also cause signal disruption.

  7. How many motion detection units will work with one receiver?

    If you have multiple detection units in place, is there a feature that tells you from which detection unit the signal is coming from?

    1. Up to three motion detectors can be connected to one receiver. Besides the audible alarm, there are three LED lights on the receiver, that will show you which zone had motion detected.
